ProAccurate metering system. You'll get good exposures all the time with or without the built-in flash. Can be used like a point and shoot camera, very light and good to handle. Very intuitive controls. You can use MB-18 (made for F75/N75) as a power supply only with 4 AA size batteries. It has the same the same base design of F75/N75 so MB-18 fits well (though not recommended by Nikon but it works perfectly).
ContraFlash shoe is not TTL capable. (not sure what Nikon was thinking by having a hot shoe but not TTL capable, almost a useless hot shoe.)
Too small for big hands but can be solved with MB-18. Made of polycarbonate plastic so extra care is a must. Not so fast autofocus system specially in low light but not a problem with the AF assist illuminator.
ThoughtsGood camera for those who can't afford expensive SLR camera. Not enough features for a begginer. Good for family use like a point and shoot with options to change lenses.
If budget is your problem in getting a Nikon autofocus SLR like me, this is a good one but get the F75/N75 instead now that it's been there already, it might be cheaper in some stores.

ProLight, compatible w/ about 40 nikkor lenses, cheap price. and the nikkor which came w/ the package; 20-80mmG (asperical) producing pretty sharp pict..!
Contrano TTL w/ external flash, plastic (cheaper?), no DOF preview? but who need it...
Thoughtsgreat for backup and beginner, lot of feature for the price.. go go nikon !

ProI use Nikon cameras for more than 30 years. This is really light, feels good at most situations and produces excellent images even or especially with the standard 28-80 AF lens that come with the set.
ContraNo battery pack available, no TTl extern flash guiding.
ThoughtsMy first choice in price without compromise on image quality.

ProUser friendly. You can easily learn from this camera, especially beginners like myself. Accurate light reading. Capable of producing awesome pictures. Very light and handy, feels good on the hands.
ContraSpeedlight could use a little more power. No depth of field preview. Should come with a leather case, 'cause it's not easy to find one.
ThoughtsOverall, this precision instrument is quite impressive and at a very affordable package. It's probably everything an enthusiast would ever need.

ProExcellent results.Exposure system spot on and the camera is very light and carryable.
28-80 lens is an excellent performer.Takes all normal Nikkor Af lenses.Good built in flash.
Advanced exposure options and a ton of features.
ContraNo TTL flash capability with exrernal flash units (very limiting and diappointing) and no DOF lever. No metering with AIS or autofucus with AFS lenses.Plastic (cheap?)construction including plastic bayonet flange mount.Fast AF,but can hunt with low contrast subjects. Enthusiasts would be better off with the N65.
ThoughtsGreat first camera or backup or P&S.Worth the money.Great features for the price.
