| Pro | - Fast AF
- Well Built
- Easy operation
- Good handling |
| Contra | - Lack of some pro functions |
| Thoughts | After reading some comparisons and reviews of F90 i thought it'll be slow (as the reviews say - two times slower than F90x). Meybe F90x is faster but F90 is really fast. For fastest AF you shuld go for F100 of F5 or the best solution for SUPER FAST AF - Eos 1V. F90 is really fair and fast camera which is completly satisfying. |

| Pro | All my great old MF AI-S Nikon lenses are useable with this camera. Center weighted and spot metering is superb. SB-24 functions for TTL balance fill flash just fine. Also like the double shot option of the self-timer. And using AA batteries. |
| Contra | It is absurd there is no way to use a cheap, simple, standard old cable release. What the heck were they thinking! Would also like a mirror-lock up. Those pre-programed programs are an idiotic waste.
Rubber coating rubs off very easily. |
| Thoughts | Solid, meaty, durable feel to the thing. |

| Thoughts | F90S it is a normal nikon F90. F90S(with MF-26) and F90D (with MF-25). You can read about MF26 here http://web.mit.edu/cai/www/nikon/MF26.html
MF-26, MF-25 is Multi-control Back. You can buy it leter.

| Thoughts | You can get the metal (not plastic like the F80 or F100) camera back replaced at your friendy Nikon Service Centre at a small cost - I paid USD32 for it. Later when you are free, slowly scrub/rub off all the melted rubber with a cloth and you now have 2 camera backs!

| Pro | Very good and handy camera. |
| Contra | Rubber coating on body and data back melts into gooey, sticky black stuff. Otherwise,
I find the camera, a-ok! |
| Thoughts | Can anybody help me find
replacement for the data back that won't eventually turn into shoe goo? I live in a warm,
temperate country, so it is a big problem. I haven't used it for 3 years now because of
this problem |

| Thoughts | Wasn't that impressed by the auto focus-ended up using manual focus. In fact used camera in manual mode full stop! Spot metering was good but would have liked meter display to have indicated a full two stops under and over (ala Olympus OM4). Flash function with SB25 speedlight was excellent and high flash sync was extremely handy in our sunny tropical conditions (Northern Australia). Ergonomically,it seemed to be well designed with all controls easily accessable. Unfortunately my F90 started locking up the first exposure of the session when it was idle for more than an hour. Then the Film Rewind button started to become intermittant. I ended up trading it in on an old Nikon FA manual SLR, and apart from the lack of spot metering I am very happy with my decision. |
