| Pro | Very simple to use, stick it in aperture priority and start shooting. Metering is dead on. I have never had a problem with an incorrectly exposed image. Autofocus is fairly quick. I've never missed a shot because the focus was hunting. |
| Contra | My biggest nit pick is the lack of a spot meter. Even thought the matrix metering system appears flawless, this is a camera that would do me for a very long time of it had a spot. |
| Thoughts | A good value that will provide great images. If it weren't for the fact that I need(want) a spot meter, I would have no reason to consider another 35. |

| Pro | a good camera that can be taken wherever you go...lightweight...consistent shots...easy to operate but yield good results...i have this camera for more than a year now with no problems whatsoever...doesn't eat a lot of power from the batteries even after 40 rolls of film...picture modes very helpful for capturing once in a lifetime shots |
| Contra | body easilt scratched...one has to be careful not to rub it with a rough material of get bumped on a rough surface...annoying pop-uo flash, needs improvement...slow flash recharge |
| Thoughts | a very fine, all-around camera that will serve most purposes...a good entry level camera that avoids clutter and confusion with settings...you'll get good value for your money...for sure! have fun shooting your pentax...a good, quality brand |

| Pro | Very lightweight, accurate autofocus & metering all the functions required by beginners without becoming confusing. |
| Contra | Plastic lens mount though it seems robust enough, it would be nice to have a spotmeter on a camera of this capability. |
| Thoughts | I have had this camera for over a year & have found it to be a great little companion. the light weight makes it easy & convenient to carry when weight is a problem, I love it. consistent results & ease of use have endeared it to me. Another winner from a fine company. Good backup for my Z1. |

| Pro | Great camera, easy to use, ergonomic controls, light, functional, no fuss approach, well made. I've shot about 40 rolls through it so far, no problems at all. Pentax SLRs are the quiet achievers, they don't advertise huge, but they do the job well. Excellent value for money as well! |
| Contra | Auto-focus may "hunt" sometimes. |
| Thoughts | For those who needs a good performer, no fuss camera, this is it. It is well suited for beginners and amateurs, but not so much for professionals (lacking CW and Spot metering, DOFP). In summary, definitely recommended!!!! |

| Pro | Very reliable... not a single problem with it. Batteries seem to last a decent amount of time if you don't use the built in flash. Useful beep to signify when a picture is in focus. Wide range of lenses and accesories available. |
| Contra | No spot meter, which would be useful to me. Accessories like external release and flash hot shoe extension cost an arm and a leg. Noisy, relatively slow autofocus, but its not that bad. |
| Thoughts | I do like this camera, but I want the Pentax MZ-6, because it lights up at night (looks pretty), and more importantly has a spot meter. Having said that, its never mis-exposed a picture that could have been done better with a spot meter. |

| Pro | Easy to use and great pictures. I have shot over 10 rolls of film under verying conditions with no complaints.
|
| Contra | None |
| Thoughts | Just getting back into photgraphy after a long absense and wanted a camera I could get creative with. The problem is I have had great results with auto modes there has been no need to get creative. |

| Pro | Good features and handling |
| Contra | 2nd curtain flash on gun only. Compatible with af and program lenses only. |
| Thoughts | Good price for an autofocus camera. One thing is that you can't use non program lenses ie k mount as you can with the more expensive models in the range. The inconvienience of this is easily offset by the performance the camera. |

| Thoughts | I bought the new ZX-30 about two months ago and it has proven to be a very easy camera to operate, not to mention LIGHT! With my 50mm f/2 lens I can carry it anywhere and everywhere. It has every feature I want except for spot metering, mirror lock-up, and depth-of-field preview. For most situations though, it is a handy, light, and fun camera to use. |
