ProVery easy to use, but
Contravery basic.
Dimentions are too small to handle, personal factor!
ThoughtsI believe there are better options

ProNot sure if there was a pro for me...Went back to my Nikon.
ContraIf you want it for outdoor shooting in the winter forget it...malfunctions all the time. Less than a minute in -15c and you can't take a picture. Alberta weather -15 happens in October...camera only good for the 3 seasons. s/s/f
ThoughtsI had to return this camera 2x due to malfunctioning on me...wouldn't focus and flash would short circut on me. Purchased the batterie pack to solve problem. Batteries not the problem...Pentax was confussed...not durable wouldn't work in the cold...a very sensitive camera.

ProHas a built in Infa Red which can be used with or wo 3 second delay to hid remote. Much better build and more accurate exposure than similar priced Minolta, Nikon or Canons.
ContraNo dept of view knob. No spotmeter.
ThoughtsThis camera fits a fantastic niche for the traveling public. Light weight and especially the IR system makes this a one in its class camera. Complements other cameras in the Pentax line.

Pro- Small & lightweight, but feels more robust than similar Canon offerings.
- Fast and accurate AF is great for those of us who have a harder time focussing manually as we get older.
Contra- Batteries are expensive. Useless without them. - Battery door looks very flimsy, like it was made to be broken! - Using the camera on manual is not very convenient, but not needed very often as the autoexposure modes can handle pretty much anything most people will throw at it.
ThoughtsAn excellent camera for beginners to serious amateurs. Plastic body is probably not rugged enough for any pro use. I recommend getting the AA battery pack to save on the expensive photo batteries.

ProLight weight, easy to use. AF works well (use Sigma 28-105 lens) and has most features that a beginner
amateur would like. All round great camers at a good price
ContraCould use depth of field preview, and would like spot metering (suppose this is the zx 5n)
ThoughtsGood for non photographers, but allows want to be photographers most of the features one needs.

ThoughtsIt's a nice and relative small camera, pair it with Tokina AF 28-105/F:3.5-4.5
you got better than PS camera and lightweight system. I love it than my F80
But Nikon Lens quality is Superior compare than PEntax lenses.
But I don't care about lens quality , lightweight and easy to use is more important for me

ThoughtsThis is an excellent and fun camera to use. I first thought the illuminated control dial was a gimmick, but it really is useful in dim light or when doing night photography. This one has all the features one could want, full auto and manual modes, picture modes, auto pop up flash, it even can do multiple exposures and can use a wireless remote shutter release. Exposures are right on the spot. Metal lens mount and many metal reinforcements ensures a long life. In my personal opinion, this "babe" feels more solid than the competition from Canon and Minolta in this market segment.
I like this camera, excellent for beginners, snapshooters and photo amateurs.

Thoughts've recently bought a MZ7 and I couldn't be happier with it. I've used manual cameras for many years, including Minolta's X700, and I've been surprised how much enjoyment I get out of using an auto camera. It has the features I need; depth of field would be nice, but how often do we use it? Auto bracketing? Unless you're a professional, you don't need it. It's too costly on film. To call this a beginners camera is crazy. It has full manual options, aperture priority, shutter priority, manual ISO settings It allows me to control exposure, focus, etc. But I also love being able to take snaps at parties without worrying about focus and exposure. A wonderful camera!!
