| Pro | Light but solid feel, heaps of features which are easy & straightforeward to use.
Panorama mode, [yes I do use it] |
| Contra | Nothing I can think of. |
| Thoughts | I purchased this camera secondhand & I am very happy with it.I have since bought a Z1 so it is no longer my prime camera but it is still used often. Why do people bag the panorama feature? I don't use it much but it can be quite creative, try it & see what I mean. Good value for the features provided. |

| Thoughts | I've been using Minolta MF cameras for many years. When I wanted to
upgrade to an AF SLR, I was forced to change the complete system.
It was therefore no question, that the new camera wouldn't be a
Minolta again, neither a Canon. IMHO it shouldn't pay off too much
for a supplier to discontitnue a successful system when introducing
a single new feature. This was the reason to choose between Nikon
and Pentax only. When trying several AF SLRs, I almost fell in love
with the MZ-5: It was the only camera with intuitive handling.
It never disappointed me within the past four years.
However, there are a few minor points I would improve:
- DOF preview (added to the improved version MZ-5n)
- AE-lock (AFAIK also in the MZ5-n)
- separate EV correction for the TTL flash (like in the Z1)
I would buy it again!! |
