ProSmall and light entry level camera, OK for a beginner.
ContraNot much control. No aperture priority mode or manual mode. Cheap plastic construction.
ThoughtsOK for a beginner. Not much of a camera.

ProNot too expensive camera that's got all the features to take good pictures. Small screen on top of the camera so no useless info. Simple and pure. Lightweight.
ContraIt's not possible to change aperture (but it is vissible and changing the aperture-time you'll see the aperture changing. A little bit more information in the viewfinder would be nice.
ThoughtsAfter about a year, no complaints about this camera. Takes very good pictures or slides. I'm happy with this camera. If you're looking for a AF-body without all the bullshit features this is a beautifull machine.

ProSimple introduction to SLR; Non-Technical; Excellent Pics
ContraNo 'creative' features
ThoughtsExcellent intro to the EOS Range on a budget or a good inexpensive spare EOS body to have in the bag.

ProSimple to use
ContraNo aperture control!!
ThoughtsBaseline EOS, has shutter control but no aperture control, so not a good camera for beginners who want to learn photography. White auxiliary AF light also distracting and takes quite long to focus properly.

Pro-
Contra-
Thoughtsvery simple; quite good in outside photography, fare on inside photography, mediocre on night photography. AF works, but that's all. Slow. EF compatible, which is very good. Small step from P&S, major leap (from here) to a pro camera ;)
