| Pro | The heaviness that many people complain about is something that I find to be a positive, helping to stabilize the camera. It has always been a reliable performer (until I dropped it). Repairs were worth it to me. I love the frame rate just as is. I like the remote, though I agree a rear-facing sensor would be better. |
| Contra | Rubber shutter damper had to be replaced due to melting (left in vehicle too long). |
| Thoughts | A strong, well-built camera that most consumers and pro-sumers would be pleased with. Pros would probably want more. I've had mine for 10 years and its still going strong. |

| Pro | I bought this camera couple of days ago and I must say I am very pleased with it. Eventhough the camera is about 10 years old but it is the finest one. I used Minolta, Richo, Lubitel and other brand for years but this is the one.
It feels heavy and handles great. The lens is an ultrasonic with high presicion. Revinding the fils the quick and offers 3.3 exposure/second in a low light and 4 with lots of light. |
| Contra | None |
| Thoughts | I would recommend this camera to everyone if they can get their hands on them and grab it. It is built in Japan so you know it comes right from the heart. |

| Pro | Great camera...accurate exposure meter. Quiet rewind during weddings. |
| Contra | I don't like the feel in the hand...not contoured enough. I'm also having problems with a flash on it. Fires the flash on the hotshoe about 50 percent of the time on the AV mode...on all other modes, it won't flash. Local repair facility is saying it's the worn out rubber shutter cushion....$140 to fix. I bought it only a few months ago from KEH.COM camera for $375 used at a rating of EX+. They wouldn't stand behind the defection and wouldn't accept a return or pay for the repair. NEVER buy any photo gear from KEH.COM. They are very unprofessional and are very deceptive in their advertising of their products!!! |
| Thoughts | Great camera when it works. This is my second body...but they aren't real durable and can't take any major blows like an EOS-1 can. |

| Pro | lovely crisp autofocus, cracking exposure, just feels so flapping good, like a good responsive compatrioso. |

| Pro | It is a very good partner to my Elan IIe and EOS5 (A2E). The camera is very sturdy and even bought secondhand, handles like a dream. |
| Contra | No control wheel behind. (I got used to changing apertures using it with the IIe and 5.) |
| Thoughts | There is nothing much I can fault with this camera. I would of course like to have the equivalent of the VG10 but with something like that it would be rather bulky. It is extremely compact and unassuming like a Rebel but handles and performs closer to the Elan IIe and EOS5. The biggest part is, I got it for the equivalent of US$150 including a 35-105 EF lens. It's not a USM but who cares? With the money I saved, I can buy it its own USM lens later! |

| Pro | Well built, simple handling control. |
| Contra | dull viewfinder(especially on the EV reading), no flash compensation, FEL,
no real spot metering and why the IR receiver should be in the front only? |
| Thoughts | Have been great and never dissapointed me yet. Gone through outdoors,
weddings, casuals with satisfactory result. The only reason i would upgrade is for better flash
system, but this one provides enough with right technique.

| Pro | Compatible with high-speed IR film, fast motor drive. Has a built-in intervalometer. |
| Contra | Poor manual metering display, exposure compensation very cumbersome, no flash exposure compensation. |
| Thoughts | I've written up a full review of this camera, along with an unofficial manual at:

| Pro | Very nice together with the heavier lenses such as my 300/4 L and 1,4 ext. The metering as mentioned before is great. |
| Contra | Heavy! Not a camera to carry around on vacation. |
| Thoughts | I shoot exclusively wildlife, this camera is the best I've tried this far. Together with Canons L
optics you can only get happy with the results! |

| Thoughts | I use this camera for aerial photography, and mounting in all sorts of places on gliders. Have had some stunning shots. No reason to change! |

| Pro | Great for Infrared (B&W Kodak HIE). It's one of the only EOS bodies that doesn't fog the film.(Other than the 1N) |
| Contra | A bit noisy in church (for weddings)but so what.
|
| Thoughts | I have 7 bodies 2 A2's,3 Elans,7E,but this one is my favorite! |

| Contra | No real spot metering |
| Thoughts | Sorry to tell you, but after 9 years I'm having troubles with the shutter. And for the money I'm asked to pay for a repair, it's better to buy a new EOS 7E. |

| Pro | 5 fps drive
Intervalometer
+- 5 Autobracketing |
| Contra | Annoying meter display is pretty useless.
Battery muncher
No External Booster/Battery Pack
Weight
|
| Thoughts | The worst thing about this camera is the way it communicates the meter reading. If you deviate from the camera's "correct exposure" in the manual mode, you have no idea how many stops you are out unless you count them yourself.
This is a very good deal on the used market for the speed of its film transport. Its a heavy mid-range camera that works well, and holds up to minor abuse. Not water-resistant (handles very minor rain only). |

| Pro | Great quality; excellent fit and finish |
| Contra | A bit heavy and bulky |
| Thoughts | I've owned my 10s for five years and shot roughly 400 rolls of film; yet nearly every image has consistent, balanced exposure. For a mid-line 11 year-old camera, it offers many features not available in many models today. |

| Pro | Sturdy |
| Contra | Heavy |
| Thoughts | Traded in a Nikon N2020 years ago for a 10S. Has been a very reliable and very sturdy camera. I have looked at the newer cameras to upgrade to, but other than the newer cameras being somewhat lighter, I can find no reason to change. |

| Thoughts | I bought my EOS 10s new, which was 10 years ago the has been fantastic I paid $358 for the body. I bought a cheap lens, and it eventually broke in half. B and H for years was selling used 10s for 360 to 380 range. 250 is a good price i just bought a EOS 1n in 10 shape at b & h i am waiting to purchase 540 ez flash and power booster drive E 1 |

| Thoughts | This is the best camera for the money in the used department.Makes a great backup to the
newer tech. EOSs. This a great camera for a serious amature and compares very closly to
the A2,so save a few bucks to invest toward a good lens and i think you will be very pleased
with the results.

| Thoughts | I own two of these cameras and I think that they provide great value for the current price. It is loaded with features that I use and the meter is right on. I shoot slides almost exclusively with it and I never miss getting the exposure correct.
This is a solid picture taking machine and the two have never given me a single problem. |
